I started Sophio Software in 1999. Our mission was to webify the then broken electronic cataloging standards. In 1999 the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) had an electronic catalog standards committee for just a few short years. There were only a few companies actually subscribing to the standard, and Profit Pro (now known as Wrenchead) was the only company accepting files in the AAIA standard to populate their catalog.
A lot has changed in the past eight years, and today everyone is working on their AAIA file, there are only two companies left in the electronic catalog space (Wrenchead and Activant), and surprisingly very few companies doing what Sophio does.
More soon.
